Despite the fact, that the Soviets officially are taking
a: more end more openly enti-jewish line, they do not negiect to
tyy to penetrate and gain for their cause the State of Israele
This pewtration is twofold : political-religious, in the hope
of one day gaining decisive influence in the country or ut least
to keep it nentrul in case of 4 gonfilict 3 direct action penetra=
+t on with the aim at creating bases for Soviet espionnage in
the country.

we had pointed out the organizations which were backing the Soviet
dive in Fussia, especially in te training and educution of jewish=
communist egentse In this report we shali concentrate at giving aj
acurate picture of teé őrces working in Israel itself for the
aims of the Soviet Union.

Mere are three main organizations of that nature 8
the MAPAM end its subsidiary organizations 3 the Mifligat Komu-~
nistit Israelit or MKI ; finally the Russian Palestine Society
and its bmanches,

The most important and most dangerous - ut least till
now - of these organizations is the Henni-Socialist Party, MAPAM.
Its idealistic members where at the origin of the Kibbuzim Moves
ment, those coliective fam settlements which first started Pales=
tine in the land movement of the Jews. During the Polestinian Wary,
the private Armyof Mapem, the Pulmach, guined vast prestige for
its courage. It recruits its followers mostly from the recent
