carefully selected acres(after deducting 50 2 for reser¬
vation holdings). As far as exploration is concerned,there
have benn little results today, but production was deve¬
lopped in three areas.
Federated Petrol ámited.has an ageressive manage¬
ment large capital for exploration and development. It
holds 650.000 acres. Recently,Federated has discovered a
large gas well in Central Alberta,producing hundred and
fifty million cubic feet of gas,
Home O41 Company. Largest producer in the rich
Turner Valley. (South of Calgary). This and other Home 011
areas produced 1.5 million barrels. 25 % of its stock is
owned by Federated.
Anglo-Canadian 011 Cos ist active together with
Home O11 and Calgary & Edmonton in the area of Armena
(close to the large fields of Leduc and Woodbend, South
of Zdmonton),which seems most promising. The company pro¬
duce& 636,000 barrels.
Calgary and Edmonton Corp.has an extensive acreage
(1.2 millions in Alberta) covering half of the newly dis¬
etch 9 Pincher Creek Field (North of the Montansa-Alberta
porder)'.
Great Pldms Development Co.has a high grade manage¬
ment and reserves of about 8 million barrels. Its policy
is to develop farm-outs from others.
H O41 and Refining Limited. has an important
stake in the developments of LLoydminster (on the Saskat¬
chewen-Alberta border on the Canadian National Railrasd
Line). The company has a contract with Canadian National
Rafilreads to furnish 2 million barrels of fuel oil for
5 years. It holde 3 million acres together with Phillips
Petroleum and the Empire Trust Group.
Royakife
Redlite O41 Co.has a large production in Turner
Valley and in Redwater (North of Edmonton) - 1.5 million
parrels in 1951. At the end of 1951,the co: was en¬
gaged in an exphoration program embrecing nearly 2 million
BCrese
Western Leaseholds Ltd.produced in 1951 1.5 million
barrels,with 26 million barrel reserve. Chief merit is hol¬
ding of 1.6 million well-scattered acres of leaseholds.
Dome Exploration Ltd.has an experienced and aggressive
management,fair amount of reserves,but limited acreage.
